Sheila is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), specialized in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
She has developed curriculum and taught courses in CSR, Community Investment (CI), Sustainability and non-profit management at Royal Roads University,Mount Royal University, and the University of Calgary.
She has also coached more than 30 MBA learners through their CSR-relevant capstone projects, and is a mentor at the Haskayne School of Management.
Sheila regularly teaches professional accreditation courses for the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada) – The Essentials of Management Consulting and Ethical Behaviour for Consultants) and volunteers as a Trainer of Trainers for Scouts Canada Chinook Region.
Sheila has managed three multi-million dollar charitable foundations (the Chastell Foundation, the Canadian Pacific Charitable Foundation and the PrairieAction Foundation). Her Foundation accomplishments include establishing a groundbreaking grants management system as well as highly effective corporate sponsorship, community investment, employee engagement, and signature programs.
Since earning the Advanced Certificate in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College (when it was first established!), Sheila has leveraged her experience and learnings to become an accomplished CSR management consultant. Now, Sheila develops CSR strategies for business and charitable clients, including establishing and managing community investment and grants programs, CSR frameworks, values-based business plans, and sustainability reports.
A perpetual volunteer, Sheila is Camp Chief for the annual Senator Buchanan winter survival camp for Scouts Canada, is an active board member for CMC Alberta and is Vice President on IABC/Calgary’s board.
Additionally, Sheila is the Executive Vice President, Strategy for LAR Business Concepts – a Western Canada consulting business that provides Corporate Community Involvement support and counsel.
She is also an approved CSR Service Provider on behalf of CBSR.
